How it works

Surf the whole rack

No bookings and no hire fees. Your weekly membership covers every board you take, however many times you swap.

Join in the shop

Pick your tier, sign the member agreement and pay your refundable bond. No joining fee, just one weekly payment from then on.

Take any board

Grab any surfboard in your tier that's on the rack. Not sure what suits you? Ask, and we'll talk it through.

Swap whenever

Bring it back and take another, as often as you like while we're open. Swaps never cost a cent.

One at a time

You have one board out at a time. Bring it back by its due time and the rest of the quiver is yours.

Founding members keep the founding price for as long as they stay members. Once the founding spots are gone, everyone who joins after pays the regular price.

Both tiers: no joining fee, no minimum term and 4 weeks' notice to cancel. There are no reservations, so boards are first come, first served. Brand new boards aren't part of the club, and memberships can't be paused.

The quiver

A rack that never sits still

The club runs on our own second hand boards. About 70 standard boards are open to every member, and 10 exclusive boards are kept for The Local. Brand new boards aren't part of the club.

Every surfboard in the club is still for sale. If someone buys the one you've got, bring it back at your next return and pick another. New boards land every week, so there's always something different to try.

The fine print

How the club runs

The short version of the member agreement you sign when you join.

No bookings

Boards can't be reserved or held, for anyone. It's first come, first served from what's on the rack, so no particular board is ever guaranteed.

One board at a time

Bring one back to take the next. Swap as often as you like while the shop is open.

Just for you

Your membership is personal: only you ride the board you take out. Mates can hire a board by the day.

Back on time

Weekend Warrior boards are due by 4pm Sunday. The Local keeps a board up to 7 days. Late returns cost 10% of the board's value per 24 hours, not counting Monday to Thursday, plus a flat $75 if a Weekend Warrior misses Sunday.

The bond

$300 for Weekend Warrior or $400 for The Local, refunded when you leave. If any of it covers something along the way, top it back up before your next board.

Cancel any time

No minimum term. Give 4 weeks' notice and your membership carries on as normal until then. Memberships can't be paused or frozen.

Weekly payments

Charged every week. If a payment fails, borrowing pauses until it's sorted, and the board you have still comes back on time.

Dings and damage

Same as our hire terms: repairs at the repairer's quote, plus any loss in the board's value. A lost board is charged at its listed price, with no late fees on top.

Under 18?

Welcome, with a parent or guardian's consent. They sign the member agreement too.
